minimalist packing tips

Jet setting for a long weekend? Here’s my top 5 favorite minimalist packing tips for keeping things light! 🙂

Minimalist Packing Tips You Need to Start Using ASAP

  1. Choose items that are versatile (leggings, leggings, leggings)! Each item should be able to be worn with at least 2 others (keeping the colors in the same family will help with this!)
  2. Start packing a few days ahead of time (or in my case a week) and keep revisiting your choices. I guarantee you will cut your load in half by the time you’re done.
  3. Zone in on clothes that are light weight and can be rolled up nice and small (have I mentioned leggings?)
  4. Like I just said, ROLL your clothes instead of fold! This gets rid of extra air and allows you to really pack things down.
  5. Use travel organizers! I personally love the Eagle Creek Pack-it Compression set (you can get them at REI or I got mine on Amazon) and the eBags Packing Cubes.

That’s all for this post. I hope you guys like my 5 minimalist packing tips and find them useful! If you want to see what I’m packing for NYC, check out my post titled “What’s in my bag?
