Hey guys!

So it’s Saturday right now (the 10th) and we are currently located in the Cinque Terre! It’s been so crazy! On Wednesday we arrived in Bologna around 10:30pm, and took a taxi to our hotel. We decided it would be fun to just rally and go out that night, so after we showered we headed into the City Center to check out the town and the nightlife! It was pretty fun! I hadn’t realized how large Bologna actually is, I had always heard that it was smaller, but there was plenty to do. I think it might have something to do with the fact that there is a really big university in Bologna.

The next day, we headed back down to the City Center of Bologna and tried to find a bank that would exchange our American money for Euros. Here’s a little tip for everyone traveling in Italy – if you aren’t going to hige ass cities, get your Euros at the airport or before you travel, or just withdraw straight from your account at an ATM, cause finding a local bank to exchange currency has proven to be impossible for us. We still haven’t found a bank that will do it, and we’ve been to 4 cities!! Also, the ATMs require you to enter your PIN number, so if you are wanting to pull money out from something like a Chase Sapphire Card, you should try and see if your bank will assign a PIN number to it before you go.

After we decided to give up on locating a bank, we headed to the train station and took a train to Parma. Parma was really nice! We actually enjoyed being in a smaller and less touristy area. The food was amazing too! That night for dinner we just grabbed a of random delicatessen entres and a couple bottles of wine, and had dinner on the rooftop terrace of our hostel – European Rooms Parma. It was a lovely little evening! After dinner we played cards with the hostel host and another guest until like, 2:30am!

The next morning was rough so Amy and I slept in haha. But Colleen was up bright and early and even went out on the town for coffee and breakfast! I had gotten a freaking UTI so we went looking for antibiotics, which I wasn’t able to get without a prescription, so that was cool. But after that, we headed to the train station and started our journey towards the Cinque Terre!!

More to come next week so be sure to check in on our progress!

xo,

B
