Day 6 in Shanghai

Our sixth and final day in Shanghai was for Eihab to go to work, and for me to shop! It was also the hottest day we experienced in China! It was 99F, but according to my weather app the heat index and humidity made it feel like 117F!!!! We were both sooo sweaty! Poor Eihab came back from his meetings just drenched in sweat, and I had a hard time shopping for clothes because I was so sweaty that I couldn’t change very easily lol (gross).

However, I did manage to purchase a few really cute clothing items, and at prices that were super cheap compared to what they would have been in the U.S.! I bought a really pretty white summer maxi dress, a sporty orange dress, a white blazer that’s really unique because it kind of just drapes over your shoulders instead of having sleeves, a cute purse, and a lace top. I think I only spent a little over $100 for all of it, and the place I shopped at, Asobio, was kind of a boutique type place, so it was a great deal!

I also stocked up on a ton of beauty products! I got like, 25ish face masks, eye cream, toners, moisturizer, and a bunch more, for less than $75.00!!!! I’m going to have to do some research on the brands though, because I feel like $2.25 for an eye cream is a little suspicious….but we shall see!!! 🙂

The Bund 30

The Bund 16

That night after Eihab was done with work, we took another trip down to The Bund to see the view at night with all the lights. We also did some shopping at the souvenir shops around there because we wanted to make sure we got enough gifts for all of our family and friends back home! It’s still kind of blowing my mind at how much cheaper stuff was there than in the United States…it kind of makes me feel like I could definitely live there for a while if Eihab’s work took us there!

The Bund 35

We headed back to the apartment around midnight, and didn’t realize that the metro closed early, so we had to take a little tut-tut type of things back to our apartment. It was quite the adventure!! This guy was a pro though, he weaved in and out of traffic like it was nothing. We didn’t really have dinner that night, since we had a late lunch at a noodle place before we went down to The Bund. The noodle place was OK, I had a really yummy duck noodle dish that I thought was delicious, but Eihab had shrimp wonton soup, which was apparently shrimp and pork wonton soup….so that kind of sucked. We definitely decided we liked the food in Beijing much more!
