I hate to break it you babes, but summer is almost over 🙁 I know, I know, it’s still August and it’s still almost 100°F outside, but trust me, we have a limited amount of nice days left. Especially here in the PNW! I’m actually kind of excited though cause I’m your basic white girl and I love Fall and pumpkin spice EVERYTHING. I’ve even started thinking about how I can transition some of my favorite summer pieces in to fall. One of my favorite pieces to transition is definitely the maxi dress. Maxi dresses are great because they’re typically flowy and perfect for summer, but they’re also great for fall! Here’s one of my favorite maxi dresses that I wore this summer, and how I’m planning on transitioning it for Fall 🙂

My Favorite Maxi Dresses for the Summer to Fall Transition
This maxi dress is from Forever XXI and I actually bought it at they’re Memorial Day Sale this past May. It’s was actually less than $3!!! I’m a huge sucker for a sale, so of course I had to get it. I just love the lace up back and plunging neckline. I tend to stay away from a neckline that is this revealing usually, but with a maxi dress providing full coverage everywhere else, I feel like it adds just the right amount of sexy 🙂
I’m also obsessed with the print of this dress. The darker colors and warm red in the flowers makes this a perfect maxi dress for Fall. On way to transition this piece would be by layering it over a white long sleeve blouse with a pair of black heeled boots (like I’ve worn here). You could also add an over-sized chunky sweater with a pair of sneakers, or switch out the sweater for a denim jacket!
For a dressier and more summer appropriate look, I paired this dress with my favorite chunky heeled sandals. I love how sexy a strappy sandal can be, but adding a chunky heel makes it sooo much for comfortable! I’ve had this pair forever, but there’s a very similar style here!
This weekend I’m going to a friend’s wedding and I think I might wear this dress. What do you all think, is it too sexy for a wedding? Leave me a comment and let me know, I’m always afraid I’ll look too sexy (*coughtrashycough*) if I wear something like this to a wedding!
Thanks for reading loves! Be sure to leave me a comment below with your vote on whether or not I should wear this to the wedding tomorrow! Also, if you have any tips on transitioning your summer pieces in to fall, be sure to let us know!
