Rodial Review

I’ve recently been trying out some new products with a secret ingredient…dragon’s blood! OK, not real dragon’s blood…it’s actually a red liquid that comes out of plants! From the research I’ve done, it appears dragon’s blood has lots of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, meaning it’s got to be good for your skin, right? Well, after trying out these dragon blood products from Rodial, I’m convinced it’s true! I’ve tried two different products with this interesting ingredient, as well as three other products from Rodial. So if you’re interested in learning more about dragon’s blood and this innovate brand, then just keep reading this Rodial review!

Skincare

Rodial Review

Dragon’s Blood Velvet Cream – this cream is extremely soothing on dry skin. It contains hyaluronic acid, vegetal squalane, and hydromanil, all of which are intensely hydrating. It’s meant to be used day and/or night on the face and neck after cleansing. However, you all know I don’t usually use a thick cream on my face, so I used this instead on my neck and decolletage (and maybe on my legs and arms as well…I have super dry skin!). Weirdly enough, I couldn’t find this product on Space NK’s website, so I’m thinking it must be a new product that’s not yet available. I would definitely recommend it if you have really dry skin. It’s extremely hydrating, has a nice silky feel, and a lovely light scent.

Dragon’s Blood Lip Mask – OK, can I just say I’m a HUUUGE fan of lip masks? They’re probably one of my favorite type of mask. This one really helps to hydrate and tone my lips with it’s moisture-rich plumping bio-cellulose properties (I feel real fancy saying those words haha!). This product retails for $7.00 for one mask on Space NK’s website (available here). I feel like this is a pretty comparable price to a lot of other brands I’ve tried, and I really like the way this one wears!

Rodial Review

Stem Cell Lip – this is a rose flavored intensive hydrating lip balm and I’m OBSESSED. Like seriously you guys, this stuff is SO. GOOD. I love the rose scent, and I feel like it’s one of the only products that not only smells and tastes divine, but also actually heels and improves the texture of my lips. This is the only other product I haven’t been able to find online, so it must be a new one!

Makeup

Rodial Review

Blusher in South Beach – this blush is so luxurious! I was a little concerned when I first saw the color (it looked very pink to me), but it leaves such a beautiful and natural finish on my cheeks! It retails for $35.00 (available here), and even though that is a tad high for a blush, I really love the formula and color of this one. I think it is versatile enough to work with different skin tones, and it just feels like a high-end and expensive product.

Rodial Review

Liquid Liner in Black – this is the only product I wasn’t expecting to like. I don’t really wear eyeliner, and I never wear liquid liner (because I suck at putting it on). I’ve also tried a lot of different brands throughout the years and have been overall unimpressed with the formulas. However, I actually really like this product! I feel like I get consistent color (no patchiness), and girl, it ain’t goin’ nowhere! I could literally rub my eye and this stuff wouldn’t come off. Even after I did the bad, bad thing of sleeping in my makeup, and still woke up with a rockin’ cat eye 😉 It retails for $28.00 (here) which isn’t a bad price for a bomb liquid liner.

Rodial Review

I really loved all of the products I received from Rodial! My favorite is definitely the lip balm (that rose scent though!). Another thing I liked about all the products was the packaging. Everything looked sleek, chic, and expensive. I would definitely recommend all of the products I was scent, and I’d also purchase them myself! I think it’s really great when brands branch out and use different ingredients, and I loved learning about dragon’s blood. They also have some products that incorporate bee venom, how crazy is that!? Let me know in the comments if you’ve ever tried a beauty product with an interesting ingredient, and I hope you enjoyed this Rodial review!
