romantic wedding proposal

Hey guys, I wanted to share with you the story of how my husband proposed to me! If you know me, you know I am not very romantic. So I was pretty surprised that Eihab was able to pull off this romantic wedding proposal! Read to the end and then let us know your proposal story in the comments!

20th Century Romantic Wedding Proposal

Eihab proposed on December 29th, 2014. That day he texted me and said he wanted to do something fun together when I got off work. Now, I was STARVING so I was hoping he was taking me to dinner somewhere. He picked me up at my apartment in downtown Portland and we started driving up Burnside towards Beaverton. I was a little confused; all of the best restaurants were behind us…but he wanted it to be a surprise so I didn’t say anything. Then when we took the turn to go up towards Pittock Mansion, I started getting a little annoyed! I asked him if we could eat at the Pittock Mansion, and he said “oh yeah, of course…”.

When we arrived at the mansion I got out of the car and started to walk towards the door, but Eihab stopped me and said he wanted to go around back and see the view of Portland first. Now keep in mind, it’s the middle of winter and Portland is WINDY – it was freezing out there! We walked around the mansion along the path that takes you to the grounds where there is a spectacular view of the Portland skyline. As we walked towards the viewing area, Eihab was being super cute and lovey (I’ll spare you the gushy details). When we got to the edge I noticed there was something on the fence – “Marry Me” was spelled out in red roses! Just then Eihab said “do you see that over there?” and when I turned around he was down on one knee!

I of course said “yes”! We hugged for a really long time, until some of the couples started noticing that the Marry Me sign was ours LOL. We went and got pizza after and called our parents (mine were thrilled, Eihab’s gave him a hard time for taking me to pizza). The cutest part was that our friend Jan was hiding and taking pictures of us, which Eihab printed and put into a photo album and gave to me as a Valentine’s Day gift 🙂
