Today is a really exciting day for me, it’s my 1 Year Blogiversary! I can’t believe it’s been exactly 1 year since I launched The B-List! I remember being so nervous to actually start this blog. Starting out a year ago I thought nobody would even want to read my blog. I was so nervous to just put myself out there. Especially since the first time I started, I gave up after only a few months.

But this time around, something’s changed…I definitely feel more determined to make this blog work, and that feeling has only increased over the past year! I don’t know what it is, but with every new subscriber (if you’re not subscribed, why not!?) and every new comment I feel my passion for this blog growing. My blog isn’t just a hobby for me anymore. It’s a place I can come and just be me and share with you guys whatever I feel like. I get to connect with real people! People who I never would have had the opportunity to meet if it weren’t for blogging.

What’s the Point in Blogging?

It’s funny cause as my blog’s grown, people have started asking me a lot of “what’s the point” type of questions. A lot of my friends don’t really understand what it is or why I’m doing it. Well, I want this blog to be my career. I want to keep growing my writing skills and I want to become more and more comfortable with sharing who I am with you all. I want to share experiences that I’ve had, things I’m hopeful to do in the future, my likes, my fears, and just about whatever else I feel like with you all 🙂 And “the point” is to hopefully inspire some of you to follow your dreams and take pride in who you are!

Why I Started a Blog

I had a rough time in high school with not really knowing who I was or what I liked (and being an extreme introvert, do you think I talked to anyone about these feelings? Of course not lol). I never really felt like I fit in anywhere. I was super thin and people would make fun of me for having acne and being quiet. Even some of my friends would give me crap for being skinny (not cool, right? SO ridiculous that it’s considered a big no-no to judge someone for being heavy, but it’s totally OK to make fun of someone who’s skinny and joke that they need to eat a hamburger…what they don’t understand is no matter how many hamburgers I managed to choke down, I still looked like a 14 year old boy and would have sold my soul for some boobs…OK, end rant lol).

Looking Ahead 🙂

Anyways, what I really hope to achieve after my 1 Year Blogiversary, is to be more open with you guys. I know how it feels to be shy, to be introverted, to be bullied and made fun of. I also know what it feels like to do crappy things to others out of stupidity, and what it feels like to live with guilt, and what I’m really focusing on for this second year of blogging is to share bits of these experiences with you, in the hopes that maybe you can relate and can find some inspiration. A lot of my inspiration and comes from reading other bloggers, and I really want to do the same, and pay it forward. We all have so much to give, and I’m excited to have the opportunity to share my life with all of you who read The B-List 🙂

Alrighty, that’s enough sappiness for one blog post lol I thought about doing the cliché 1 Year Blogiversary pictures with a giant gold “#1” balloon, but the weather is shitty in Portland and I’m kinda lazy, so I thought I would do something different and show you guys all the bloopers from my shoots from this year so far, in the hopes that you can get a good laugh out of it ;p

Thanks so much for being a part of this journey and celebrating my 1 Year Blogiversary with me! and I’ll see ya soon <3
