The Perfect Rust Sweater

Hey b-list fam! The snow is FINALLY melting here in Portland (and for the next 10 days straight we’ll have nothing but rain, rain, rain) and I could not be happier. The snow is pretty and all, but jeez it’s been so annoying to be cooped up at home! The other day I actually decided to venture out to Cornell Farms to hang out with Rachel from One Pot Slop, so I thought I’d share my OOTD from that little adventure with you guys 🙂 I don’t know about you all, but I’m loving this rust color lately (plus it looks different depending on the lighting, so pretty!). Let me know what y’all think in the comments!

My girlfriend Kim actually got me this open back tunic sweater from one of her favorite boutiques in Bridgeport, Evereve, for Christmas and I absolutely love it! She was super excited when I told her I took pictures of it for the blog while at Cornell Farms, so Kimmy, this is for you!!

This Braeve rust sweater (available here) is so perfect for me; I love that it’s long so you can totally wear it with leggings and not have to worry about your hoochie showing. I also am in love with the bell sleeves and the cut-out back!

I also paired this black velvet sash as a choker necklace to add some chunky detail. I love wearing this instead of a traditional necklace! This particular one is actually from Forever XXI and I couldn’t find the exact one to link for you guys, but there is a very similar one here!

I also wore my distressed jean leggings from Express (available here) that I love, but I’m also really upset about them because I feel like their sizes are all effed up! I’m a size 28 or 29 depending on the pants, but these are a size 30 and they are STILL too tight! I know they’re jeggings and they are supposed to be tight, but seriously I don’t want to get the weird poochy belly when I sit down…does anyone else have trouble getting the right size at Express or is it just me?

Lastly, I’m wearing my trusty black riding boots from G by Guess (got them 3 years ago at Macy’s!). Since they’re pretty old I found a very similar version here for you guys 🙂

Well, are you guys as obsessed with this rust color as I am?? I don’t know why but depending on the light the tone of the sweater varies from warm to cool and I’m digging it! Hope you guys are having a great Wednesday and I’ll talk to ya on Friday! Don’t forget that there is a new video on my YouTube channel going up tomorrow, and I’m talking about my January favorites!! I love that sweater! It has been raining here all week as well. I’m over it. Next week I’m sure it will back to being overly hot here.
