35 weeks pregnant

Well I turned 35 weeks pregnant yesterday! Only 3 more weeks to go until I’m officially “full-term” and ready to push out a small human (although she could pull a “like mommy like daughter” move and come at 36 weeks). So I just want to check in with you all and share a quick 35 weeks pregnant bump-date!

35 Weeks Pregnant Bump-Date - What does being 35 Weeks Actually Mean?

If you’ve never experienced pregnancy and are wondering what’s going on in there at this point, here’s a little insight from the apps I use (I love P Tracker and Ovia Pregnancy!).

  • Baby is about the size of a savoy cabbage (whatever the heck THAT is…) at about 18″ long and 5lbs
  • Vernix caseosa (helps baby move through birth canal) is starting to cover her little body
  • Peeing up to a pint a day (woah!) and preparing for her first poo
  • Common symptoms for mom include: confusion, blurry vision, swollen feet, constipation, hemorrhoids (yay), increased vaginal discharge, frequent urination, and lower back pain
  • Time to prepare for baby by making sure we have our route to the hospital memorized and our pre-registration taken care of!

My specific symptoms are definitely a lot of pelvic pain and pressure, since baby girl is head down and ready for action. I also feel like I want to eat All. The. Time! Seriously I’m gaining about 3 lbs per week, which is slightly alarming, but I think I’m also retaining a lot of fluid. I go in for a check up today so we’ll see what my midwife has to say when I weigh in lol. Honestly though, I’m not really worrying about it anymore. I feel OK, it’s almost 100 degrees outside, and I know my body wouldn’t be gaining the weight if it didn’t need it. I have finally found a workout routine that I think is pretty doable at this stage though, so I’m excited to start that today as well! I’ll be doing a combination of Yoga and Cycle classes, as well as walking and strength exercises 🙂 I think it’ll be a good fit for me since it’s mostly indoors, so I’ll be able to stay out of the heat!
