Hello lovelies!

So I don’t know about you, but I freaking love Happy Hour. After a long day at work, all I want to do is get together with my girlfriends for a drink and some good food downtown. The problem for me is that I LOVE wearing comfy clothes to work, but I still want to be cute when I meet up with the girls (tragedy, I know). Instead of wearing leggings and then changing when it’s time to go to Happy Hour, I just wear my comfiest “cute office attire” clothes, that way I don’t feel like a stuffed sausage, and I’m still comfortable. My #1 tip for achieving this feat? Wear a stretchy fabric!

Here is my latest “from the office to Happy Hour” look. Since I definitely want to be comfortable, I wore my trusty black leather heels from Nine West that are totally basic, but essential for every woman’s wardrobe. I also kept my accessories to the bare-effing-minimum with a pair of crystal stud earrings and my wedding rings. This has been my go-to lately – a pair of simple studs and my rings. I just feel like the minimalist look has been really “in” lately, and to tell you the truth, it is SO much easier than trying to match earrings and necklaces and bracelets (oh my!).

My favorite part about this look is definitely the pink pencil skirt by Leith (similar here and here) that I got at Nordstrom Rack. I adore this skirt. It is so comfortable and SLIMMING! And the double slit on each side is so sexy, you can totally wear this to Happy Hour after a day at the office, or even on a romantic date with yo man 😉

For my top, I was really excited to wear this striped turtleneck sweater (it’s actually a cropped sweater!) that I just got from Express (similar here). I have always been a huge fan of this type of cropped sweater because they fit my body so well, and turtlenecks are SO in right now (oh who am I kidding, turtlenecks have always been in). This thing is so freaking comfortable, I’m actually wearing it with my grey sweat pant leggings as we speak (or I type?), and I feel like I look kinda trendy without. even. trying. Yesssss…

Since it has been so God forsaken cold in Portland lately, I decided to wear my Calvin Klein tweed pea coat with this outfit (similar style here, and same style but in pink here!. It’s definitely not the warmest coat if you wear it without a layer underneath, but if you layer or if it’s still that transition period from fall to winter, then it’s perfect. I especially liked it with this look because of the greys…I tend to gravitate and feel my best in neutrals, but I do love to add a pop of color on occasion (hence the pink skirt). This coat has the most amazing collar as well, if you button it up all the way, it becomes a turtleneck (oh, hello!), so it’s really super cozy.

Lastly, I have finally switched the wallets that I’ve been using from my usual Coach wristlet to this beautiful wallet from Ted Baker (similar and beautiful style here. This is one of my absolute favorite wallets! I have had it for about 3 years now, and I always pull it out and use it every fall/winter. It is so feminine and just has the most beautiful design, and the crystal clasp is the perfect finishing touch.

What do you guys think about this transitional “office to happy hour look?” Also, let me know in the comments some of your go-to pieces for days where you just want to be comfy at work but don’t want to look like a sloth, cause I’m always looking for ideas and inspiration!

I hope you guys have fun this weekend and be safe if you are going to any Halloween parties! I’ll talk to you on Monday!

xo,

B
