September through the end of the year is always the most magical time for me. I love the feeling of things changing (it’s the philosophical romantic in me LOL). If you’ve followed me for any amount of time, you know I’m no stranger to change. You’ve probably noticed I’m always changing my look, makeup habits, and hairstyle. I’ve always thought “What better time of year for a change than the holidays?” Last year my hair was BRIGHT pink. This year? Well, this year I’m trying out a new holiday hairstyle, and walking y’all through a tutorial on how you can revamp your look for the holidays at home, without breaking the bank, and the best part, it’s totally temporary!

Want a fresh holiday hairstyle without cutting, dying, or changing your real hair in ANY way?

Girl, you’ve come to the right place! I’m the queen of switching up my hair, but this year I wanted something fun, easy, and affordable. So, I decided to try out Schwarzkopf® color ULTÎME® hair color! It’s available at Walmart and I snagged it for under $10! YES, that’s right, I got a whole new look for less than I’d pay in a tip at the salon. Schwarzkopf® is a no-brainer when it comes to hair color because of it’s professional-quality color that is fashionable, vibrant and resists fading for up to nine weeks! You’re probably wondering how I achieved this new look without changing my hair though, am I right?

Well, I decided to try something new and color real human hair clip-in extensions. It was super easy, and I felt like doing it this way worked better for me because I can clip them in when I’m heading out to a holiday party and take them out for work the next day. So convenient, right??

Holiday Hair Tutorial Step #1

Head to your local Walmart to pick up your favorite Schwarzkopf® color ULTÎME® shade! I went with Amethyst Black because I’m obsessed with dying my hair purple.

Step #2 – Dye your hair or extensions

I was really nervous about this because I was so sure I’d do it wrong, but it was actually super simple! Literally, just follow the instructions on the box. It tells you how to apply the color, how long to let it sit, and how to wash your hair afterward. It took me about 10 minutes to dye my extensions and I let it sit for 30 minutes. Then another 15 minutes to wash it out. After that, I just hung them out to dry and went to work for the day. When I came back, I used a blow dryer to finish the drying process! It was so easy.

Step #3 – Create your holiday hairstyle

I always feel “done up” when I curl my hair, so I knew I wanted to curl my clip-in extensions to create my holiday hairstyle. I tucked them into my medicine cabinet so they were nice and secure, then curled them with a 1 1/2″ curling iron. After they were finished, I curled my hair with the same wand and clipped in the extensions. You guys, it was so easy, and I felt like I got a COMPLETELY new look! I know this will be so much fun to wear throughout the holidays; I especially can’t wait to wear them for New Year’s Eve!
