I’ve been trying out a couple of body creams lately and I wanted to share my experience with you guys. I am not going to post many clear pictures on here because 1. you guys don’t need to see my butt, and 2. it’s really hard to capture a clear picture of cellulite…so! I’m just going to talk about it and give my honest and unpaid opinion 🙂

First, a little information about my and why I wanted to try these products:

cellulite

cellulite

I’ve been dieting and exercising for about 3 months now and have lost 13 lbs, but still have a spot on my lower abdomen that a lot of loose skin and cellulite from the weight loss. I also have a spot on my right leg that is dimpled and hard with built up cellulite, and stretch marks on my hips and butt.

fatgirlslim

The first cream I tried was the Bliss FatGirlSlim Skin Firming Cream. This product advertises it’s ability to help visibly reduce the appearance of cellulite and improve the tone and texture of your skin using caffeine as the key ingredient. You are supposed to use it twice a day, along with diet and exercise, and they also advise that you exfoliate your skin before use to prepare it for the cream (I advise dry brushing, it really works! See my post Dry Brushing – Yay or Nay? for more info!).

My thoughts on this product are that it does work, but it’s slower than what I would really like and you really do have to use it exactly as directed or you won’t see the results. I’ve been using it for over a month and I have only seen a slight change in my skin tone/texture. I do like the consistency and the smell of the FatGirlSlim cream, and it absorbs pretty quickly into the skin, which is nice!

brazilian bum bum cream

The other cream that I tried is the Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream. This cream incorporates Guarana extract as the key ingredient, which is a native Amazonian plant that contains one of the most potent forms of caffeine on the planet (can I drink this???) This cream is a lot thicker in consistency than the FatGirlSlim, and it takes longer to absorb into the skin (which is actually probably a good thing because it means you are going to end up massaging your skin longer). The smell is a bit strange for me, it’s like a mix of coconut/banana/vanilla, but if you can get past that, I really feel that it works SO MUCH FASTER than the FatGirlSlim! After only one week of use, I saw a noticeable difference in the tone and texture of my lower abdomen, hips, legs, and bum bum! I was seriously so surprised, because I honestly did not expect it to work all that well or that fast, but it really did!

Unfortunately, the Brazilian Bum Bum Cream is pretty expensive, at least for me. It’s $45.00 for an 8.1 oz container at Sephora. I couldn’t find a large container of the FatGirlSlim at Sephora, but on the Bliss website they have a 6 oz container for $36.00. On the other hand, if you want to just get a small size of each to see how they work for you and which one you like better, Sephora has a 2 oz version of the FatGirlSlim on sale right now for $9.00 (a better deal because if you buy 3 of these for $27.00 you get a total of 6 oz and you save $9.00) and a 2.5 oz version of the Brazilian Bum Bum Cream for $20.00 (honestly, that is NOT a good deal, if you’re going to get the Brazilian Bum Bum Cream, I’d recommend just paying the extra $25.00 for the 8.1 oz container).

***Another tip, if you’re going to buy the Brazilian Bum Bum Cream, buy it from the Sol de Janeiro website, because if you sign up for their e-mail list, you get 20% off your first order!

Let me know if you guys have tried these products and what you thought, or if you have a secret product that you love for toning/skin texture!

xo,

B
