Mommy morning routine

Happy Monday! This is my first post for the month of December, a.k.a. the last month of 2018. Anyone else having trouble believing the year’s almost over?? Seriously time just flew by this year! The fam and I have started settling in to life with a little and we’re starting to get a morning routine going. The biggest part of the routine is not taking it too seriously, cause it’s preeetty much all up to Ayla, but hey, a mom can dream, right?

Mommy Morning Routine

7:00am – Ayla wakes up. I do a quick feed and then spend about 45 minutes either playing with her in bed or pretending I don’t hear her rustling around and try to keep sleeping lol. Sometimes she will lay there quietly, other times she’s ready to get up, it’s pretty random.

7:45am-8:00am – Change Ayla and get her dressed for the day.

8:00am-9:45am – Tummy time and play time on Ayla’s activity mat. She LOVES this activity gym! During this time I make my breakfast (usually eggs and sautéed veggies and green Odwalla juice) and eat/play with Ayla.

9:45am-10:45am – Mid-morning feed and try to get Ayla down for a nap 😴 . She usually sleeps for 30-45 minutes during each of her naps, and while she does, I take the time to do my morning skincare routine. I still use my Arbonne cleanser that I’ve talked about a hundred times, and I’m also loving this Dr. Jart Radiance Serum and Kiehls Ultra Facial Cream, since my skin is pretty dry this time of year. I also am using the Maybelline lip treatment for my dry lips, and Aveeno moisturizer for extra dry itchy skin. Lastly I use BioOil on the areas where I still have stretch marks from my pregnancy (butt, hips, thighs) and on my lines negra.

11:00am-1:00pm – After Ayla wakes up from her mid-morning nap, I cuddle her for a few minutes, then we go in to tummy time and play time again! This is usually the time when Eihab gets up, so he takes over and I relax for a bit, get some housework done, or if I’m really lucky, take a shower! #ItsTheLittleThings

This has been our morning routine for the past couple of months. I know it’s about to change since I literally start back up at work TODAY, but I’m hoping we can get into a good rhythm that works for all of us, especially cause I DO NOT want to have to work all damn day lol.
