Well it’s Tuesday and Baby Girl still hasn’t made her arrival yet. I know she technically still has nine days until she’s due, but man mama is getting impatient! We have been doing a lot to prepare for her arrival though, including setting up her diaper changing station, installing the car seat, and making sure we have everything she needs for her daily and weekly routine. One aspect of preparing for a new baby we were a bit unsure of was bath time…what does a baby actually need?

Preparing for a New Baby

How We're Preparing for a New Baby - Bath Time Routine!

After we had our newborn education class, we promptly headed to Target to check out their collection of bath time essentials. Does anyone else do that? Run to Target when they need a specific product? I’m one of those people who LOVE Target and could literally spend hours shopping their…and I know I’ll love it even more after becoming a mom! When it came to brands, we already new what we were looking for. Both our families used JOHNSON’S® baby products on us and our siblings growing up, so it felt pretty natural to take the same route. I love that all their products are paraben and phthalate free and hypoallergenic. Plus with the newly reformulated JOHNSON’S® products, everything is now free of dyes and sulfates and has 50% fewer ingredients! This is so important for me since I do try and take a more natural route with my own skincare. I also love that JOHNSON’S® listened to their customers (a.k.a. parents!) and reformulated their products inside and out for a more gentler bath time 🙂 For our Baby Girl’s bath time routine, we are planning on still using our tub. We actually bought a little mini tub lounger thingy (I have NO idea what the proper term is) that she can lay in while we bathe her. I purchased the JOHNSON’S® No More Tangles 2-in-1 Shampoo & Conditioner for her because if she’s anything like her daddy, she’ll have curly hair, and if she’s anything like me, she’ll have raggedy tangled hair LOL. I love the 2-in-1, I don’t know if baby’s need conditioner, but at least I don’t have to go an extra step!

I know baby’s don’t tend to need a lot of lotion, but I figured as she got older it would be important to have some gentle lotion products on deck, which is why I also picked up JOHNSON’S® Baby Pink Lotion. It can be really dry feeling in our house so I wanted to make sure I had something to help soothe her skin if it got dry or irritated. We also picked up some JOHNSON’S® Original Talc Powder to use if we ever go to the beach. In our newborn education class they mentioned talc powder is great for getting sand out of all baby’s rolls!
