Something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately is my hair, and how I’ve started moving away from doing things to it that can cause damage. I used to be the type of girl who would blow dry and curl or straighten my hair every single day, and I could never figure out why my hair was so dry and had so many split ends. So lately I’ve been using hair products that style my hair, but that don’t require me to apply any heat! This works sooo much better for me, especially since I’m definitely that person who wakes up 30 minutes before they have to leave for work, and there is seriously no time to shower, wash my hair, blow dry my hair, style my hair, do my makeup, pack my lunch, find something to wear, pet Nora, and kiss the hubby good-bye!

So long story short, I want to share with you guys the summer hair care products that I love and that I will be using all summer long!

Summer Hair Care

The first two products that I am obsessed with this season are the It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-in Product and the Bumble and bumble Thickening Full Form Mousse. The It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-in Product is really amazing if you have a problem with dry hair, especially during the summer because it leaves your hair feeling really super soft and moisturized. I LOVE this Bb Thickening Full Form Mousse because it seriously makes my hair appear so much thicker and fuller. For me, this is crucial because during the summer I rarely ever blow dry my hair, so having a product that is going to give my hair that blow dry volume is really important!

The next two products are the Bumble and bumble All-Style Blow Dry cream, and Batiste Original Clean Dry Shampoo. The reason I like the Bumble and bumble All-Style Blow Dry cream, is because in the rare instance that I do blow dry my hair this summer, this cream helps to protect my hair from damage and it’s super versatile – I can use this cream whether I’m going to straighten or curl my hair. Plus, you can’t go wrong with Bumble and bumble! The Batiste Original Clean Dry Shampoo is quite possible the BEST dry shampoo I have every tried!!! It comes in a pretty large container and it is crazy cheap (like $6 at Target and Walgreens). I can go for like, 5 days without washing my hair when I use this stuff (hint: the best way to use it is to put it in your hair at night before bed so that it really socks in to your hair!).

Next I want to talk about these products. The first is the John Frieda Frizz-Ease Straight Fixation style cream. This stuff is really great because you can use it in your hair regardless of if you are going to blow dry it or not, and it still helps to lock out humidity and keep your hair frizz free all day long. It is also really cheap (bonus!). Not sure how the It’s a 10 got back in this picture, apparently I really really like it ha ha. One of the best products for this summer is the Moroccan Oil Treatment. This stuff makes me hair so incredibly smooth and feeling moisturized, it’s ridiculous. You can use this in your hair when it’s damp, or when it’s dry depending on how you like to use your products, and you can also use it if you end up styling your hair. When I curl my hair, I like to rub a dime sized amount in my palms and just comb it through the ends of my hair to add texture and moisture!

Summer Hair Care

The last three products that I want to talk to you guys about are all for curly or wavy hair. We all know that summer time calls for effortless beachy waves, and these three products are all you need to get you that look! First I’ll talk about the Bumble and bumble Bb Curl (Style) Pre-Style/Re-Style Primer. This product is great if you are going to curl your hair because it protects your hair from the heat of the curling iron and the summer sun!

These last two products I will talk about together because I always use them together when I just want to let my hair be naturally curly. First I use the Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray all over my hair, except for near my roots! I don’t spray this product anywhere around my roots because I feel like it causes my hair to look greasy faster. If you like that look, then by all means, go for it! Also, if you want to use something in your roots but don’t want that greasy appearance, I would recommend using the Bb Thickening Mousse or the Batiste Dry Shampoo that I mentioned earlier, to add some texture and volume. After I spray the sea salt spray through my hair, I scrunch my hair up towards my scalp to help it curl, and then I take about a quarter sized amount of the Bumble and bumble Bb Curl (Style) Defining Cream and rub it between my palms and throughout my hair (avoiding about an inch from my roots). This adds moisture and a bouncy texture to my wavy hair, and it also helps to protect my hair from the suns UV rays!

I hope you guys liked this post about my summer hair care must haves, let me know what products you can’t live without this summer in the comments below!

xx,

B
